Beauty for Ashes is a new body of work by Pilbara-based artist Katherine Tawse, created as both a personal exploration and a public conversation about resilience, transformation, and self-expression.

Inspired by the fearless artistry and emotional candour of Frida Kahlo, this series merges intimate self-portraiture, original portraits of Frida herself, and symbolic narratives that blend Katherine’s personal journey with the cultural and natural landscape of the Pilbara.
