Damian Callinan has a face that makes people say, ‘You look familiar, but I don’t know why.’

You may have seen him star in such films as The Merger, Backyard Ashes & the Emu War or his head might have infiltrated your TV on skithouse, Spicks & Specks or The Newsreader.

However, you might also have seen him tour our region in one his many solos shows, such as The Lost WW1 Diary, Cave to the Rave and The Merger: the one man show that inspired the film.

With his array of community engagement shows like Road Trip, Mayor for a Day and Hall Stories, he has garnered a reputation for localising his material like no other.

In Sticky Beak, he’ll have a 24 hour poke about in Karratha with his phone camera running hot, before jumping on stage for a show & tell session on the big screen.

Before it overheats, he’ll flick off the projector, and launch into his trademark physical brand of stand up and storytelling,; littered with identifiable characters and observations of regional Australia.

Assuming his hammies hold up, he’ll finish the night with his renowned sociological study of the Australian dance floor, that usually leaves people saying. ‘That bloke dances better than he looks’.
